Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)The hazards associated with fires and explosions due to unintended ignition of pulverized sulphur in the Drum Flex Area elevator, located in the southwest side of the building. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to electrically bond the various metal parts of the elevator so as to drain off any static electrical charges, as specified by paragraph 3-1.1 of National Fire Protection Association Standard 655, Standard for Prevention of Sulphur Fires and Explosions, 1988 Edition.ns,

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)The hazards associated with tires and explosions due to unintended ignition of pulverized sulphur in the Drum Flex Area elevator, located in the southwest side of the building. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is blanket all sulphur conveyor, operations with an inert gas blanket so as to exclude oxygen from the process and handling areas to safe limits as given in National Fire Protection Association Standard 69, Standard on Explosion Prevention Systems, as specified by paragraph 2-2.7 of National Fire Protection Association Standard 655, Standard for Prevention of Sulfur Fires and Explosions, 1998 Edition.
