Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of vehicle ejection while motor vehicles were in motion: Location: 517 Pond Meadow Road, Westbrook, CT 06498 On or About July 8, 1997 a) Vehicles such as but not limited to the 1986 Chevrolet C-20 flat bed full size truck, VIN #1GBGC24MOGJ153890, were not provided with seats, seat belts, seat belts assembles, and seat belt anchorages as references in Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations 1926.601(b)(8) and Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations Federal Motor Vehicle Standard Number 208 which exposed employees to the hazard of being ejected and/or thrown from the vehicles. Feasible methods to correct this hazard is to install adequate number of seats, seat belts, seat belt assembles, and seat belt anchorages or provide transportation whereas employees are provided with seats, seat belts, seat belt assembles, and seat belts anchorages.
