Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: Site: 61 Clap Ridge Road, Greenwich,CT 06830: Where a laborer suffered a leg fracture while cutting down a tree, adequate training was not provided that explians the proper procedures for felling a tree when it is caught up in another tree. One feasible method of corrective abatement action would be to ensure that the proper training for felling a tree is administered to all employees engaged in such tasks or simply do not require employees to fell trees.
