Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Throughout the building wherever heaters were needed and used: Job-made natural gas fired industrial heaters had the gas supplied to them via rubber air or hydraulic hose. This facilitated their movement from place to place but exposed employees to fire and explosion due to the fragility of the rubber creating the possibility of damage from the steel that, during daily activities, was strewn on the floor. The addition of ignition sources in the form of welding sparks enhanced the hazard.d
