General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the following condition: National Car Rental, 10801 Airport Blvd, Amarillo, Texas, 79111, Vehicle Maintenance Building: On or about 30 May 1996, the maintenance bay doors were not fully engaged in the tracks allowing for the doors to fall off the tracks. This exposed employees to the hazards and injuries of being struck by the door falling off the tracks. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to assure maintenance is performed on a regular basis to assure the doors and tracks are in operating condition and the rollers' assemblies are adjusted for the correct tightness within the tracks as per manufacturer's recommendations. p y y
