NYSLL Art. 2 Sec. 27(a)(3)(1): Employer did not furnish to each of its employees, employment and a place of employment which is free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to its employees and which will provide reasonable and adequate protection to the lives safety or health of its employees. A)The forensic pathologists, their assistants, histologists and toxicologists were exposed to the hazard of being infected by tuberculosis through repeated prolonged indoor contact with inmates who may be infected with tuberculosis. These employees were not given training which includes the following areas: - The cause and transmission of TB - The distinction between TB disease and TB infection - The significance of a skin test conversion - The signs and symptoms of TB - The purpose of preventive therapy - The treatment of TB and the origin and prognosis of multi-drug resistant TB - Site specific TB control program - The purpose, proper selection, fit, use and limitations of personal protective equipment.
