North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall to lower level: a)establishment, casting area, west end of building, fall from elevation - two employees were allowed to use the same a 24 foot extension ladder which was approved for use by one person while replacing a motor on a ten ton crane. (reference: American National Standard Institute. "for ladders - portable reinforced plastic - safety requirements". 9.3.1.1, 9.3.4 and 9.3.5 Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct the hazard would be to follow the manufactures guide and ensure that only one employee use a ladder at a time.r
