Title 40.1-51.1.(a), Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: (a) Dollar General employees were exposed to crushing hazards in the shipping/receiving area while driving, entering and exiting cabs, opening and closing trailer doors, and attaching trailers to Ottawa Commando powered industrial trucks. Drivers of other employers were also exposed to crushing hazards while driving, entering and exiting trucks, and opening and closing trailer doors of their tractor trailers in the shipping/receiving area. "One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to establish safe work practices and procedures to be followed by powered industrial truck operators and outside contractors."iving
