Minn. Stat. 182.653 subd. 2: The employer did not furnish to each employee, conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards which caused or were likely to cause death or serious injury to employees: Employee was exposed to rotating pipe on a RIDGID pipe threader. No method was provided to shut off power to the machine other than the motor switch. A portable foot treadle control is recommended for use with the RIDGID pipe threader used on this jobsite for threading long sections of pipe by the manufacturer in their publication #TF-535-74R.
