40.1-51.1.(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: (a). Lift #14 located in the automotive shop was not permanently marked to show the manufacturer's name, and rated load capacity. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to adhere to the requirements set forth in ANSI B153.1-1990, section 6.2 that states: "The lift shall be permanently marked to show the manufacturer's name, rated load capacity, model, and serial number.",

The operating instructions for the #14 lift located in the automotive shop were not posted in a conspicuous location in the lift area. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to adhere to the requirements set forth in ANSI B153.1-1990, section 7.2.1 that states: "The owner, user, or employer shall display the operating instructions in a conspicuous place in the lift area."
