31-370(a) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Location: (A)Groton/New London Airport. (1)Employee whose employees are expected to perform water rescue did not assure that training and education in water rescue procedures were conducted at least annually. Feasible abatement methods for reducing this hazard, among other are: Develop and implement policies and procedures to be followed when conducting water rescue activities including but not limited to: 1.Procedures for boat launch activities. 2.Minimum staffing for rescue efforts. 3.Site specific training commensurate with expected duties. 4.Familiarization with the airports emergency action plan in reference to water rescue. 5.Boat operations procedures.
