Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the civil defense office: It were observed two instances in which
fissured sections on
the ceiling of the structure posed the hazard of slippings and falls on
rainy days.
Among other methods, one fesasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to restore anew the ceiling with a plastic seal coat.
En la oficina de la defensa civil: Se observaron dos casos en los cuales
secciones
requebradas del techo de la estructura constituyeron un riesgo de
resbalones y caidas en
dias lluviosos.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es reparar
de nuevo el techo con un sellador plastico.

Municipio de Canovanas (Oficina Defensa Civil), was previously cited for a
violation of
this Occupational Safety and Health Standard or its equivalent standard:
Section 6(a),
which was contained in OSHO inspection number 126924034, citation number
1, item
number 1, issued on 01/14/98.
At the civil defense office: The acustic ceiling were observed with black
stain with
possible growth of fungus, this hazard expose the employees to suffer
respiratory tract
illness.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to replace anew the acustic ceiling

En la oficina de la defensa civil: Los techos acusticos fueron observados
con manchas
negras con posible crecimiento de hongos, este riesgo expone a los
empleados a sufrir
enfermedades en las vias respiratorias.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
reemplazar de nuevo el techo acustico.r
