Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At mechanic shop
a) the hooks of 3 overhead cranes Main Guard of 3 tons. were not equipped
with safety latch
for purpose of retaining slings according to ANSI B.30.2-0-1976 2-1.11.4..
b) Three(3) chain hoist main guard of 3 tons. had no annual inspection as
indicated
in ANSI B
30.16 1973 16.1.2.1.3..   The hoist are used to lift truck motors and
differentials.
Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to installed safety latch to the hooks.
Hazard: Mechanical failures.
Taller de mecanica
a) los ganchos de tres(3) gruas elevadas Main Guard de 3 toneladas no
fueron equipados con
cerrojos de seguridad para propositos de retener eslingas segun ANSI
B.30.2-0-1976 2-1.11.4..
b) Tres gruas de cadena de tres toneladas no tenian inspeccion anual como
indicado en ANSI
B 30.16 1973 16.1.2.1.3..  Las gruas son usadas para levantar motores y
diferenciales de
camiones.
Entre otros metodos un metodo de correccion factible y aceptable para
corregir este riesgo es
instalar cerrojos de seguridad a los ganchos.
Riesgo: Fallas mecanicas.
