Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the mechanic shop- employee was welding a piece of metal on cement
mixing drum
support and other employee had to use hand tool grinder machine on a piece
of metal,
on raining days, the floor accumulate water exposing the employees to
electric shock.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is install adequate drainage system.
Hazard- direct contact to energized parts.
En el taller de mecanica- empleado estaba soldando una tola de metal en el
pedestal del
bombo de mezclado del camion y otro tenia que usar herramienta para pulir
de mano en
pedazo del metal, en dias de lluviosos el piso acumula agua exponiendo a
los empleados
a sacudidas electricas.
Entre otros metodos, uno factible y aceptable metodo de correccion para
corregir este
riesgo es instalar un sistema de drenaje adecuado.
Riesgo- contacto directo con partes energizadas.
