Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the parking building in construction, 3rd. floor- there were employees
cutting pieces
of wood using table saw trademark Makita, model no. 2711, serial no.
038045E, of 3800
rpm., the table saw did not have an electrical mechanism to prevent the
automatic restart
of the machine after the restauration of the electric power.
Among others methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement methods to
correct this
hazard are install an electric motor device to avoid restarting of the
motor and/or
provision to prevent machine from automatically restarting.
Hazard: Direct contact.
En el edificio de estacionamiento en construccion, 3er. piso- habian
empleados cortando
pedasos de madera usando sierra de banco marca Makita, num. de modelo
2711, num.
de serie 038045E de 3800 rpm, la sierra de banco no tenia un mecanismo
electrico para
prevenir la restauracion automatica de la maquina despues de la
restauracion de la
energia electrica.
Entre otros metodos, unos metodos factibles y aceptables para corregir
este riesgo son
un dispositivo electrico para evitar restauracion del motor y/o
disposiciones para prevenir
una restauracion automatica de la maquina.
