General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Jobsite; An employee was not protected from falling approximately 20 feet onto a concrete floor when standing with one foot on a steel beam and one foot on a metal stud. This employee was installing additional metal studs. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to have this employee tie off with a laynard and a safety belt. b) Jobsite; An employee was standing on the midrail of the sizzor lift leaning out and over the top rail to work.
