Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to
burn hazards while operating any of the (3) steam tables in the dry
condition:
a) Kitchen; Employees work with (3) steam tables that are being run in
a dry condition. This condition presents a burn hazard to employees.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is to repair/replace the leaking wells and run the
(3) steam tables in the wet condition.

of service:

that was tagged out of service. The oven was tagged out of service
by maintenance for leaking natural gas.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard would be to remove this oven from use. A second one
would be to repair the oven.
