Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to falling from moving machinery:
a)  16 inch Transmission Main Project, Lawnherst Street
Employee other than equipment operator was observed riding
on the John Deere 644E front end loader thus exposing the
employee to injury, on or about 8/18/92.
ABATEMENT NOTE:  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable
abatement method to abate this hazard is to allow only qualified heavy
equipment operators on machinery.
