Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to
the hazard of a 14 ft. fall to concrete floor below:
a) On 10/18/88, at Construction Site inside Flickinger Warehouse.
Employees installing electrical conduit overhead, working from the
14 foot level of a manually propelled mobile scaffold, were exposed
to potential of their scaffold being struck by a moving forklift
truck, resulting in employees being knocked from scaffold.
A feasible and acceptable method of abatement, among others, is to set
up cones or rope off area at an appropriate distance from scaffold
perimeter on all sides.
