Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck, crushed or pinned by atomobile lifts: a) Safety stops on single column lift, serial #FP464MR6 and double columning lift, serial #JG163A did not function. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, to significantly reduce this hazard is; regular preventative maintenance along with a visual check of the lifts each time they are used as stipulated by ANSI B153.1- 1974 Sections 3.1.10 and 6.1.
