Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazard of being caught in rotating parts of the machine: a) 1st Floor The employee(s) were using a Rigid 300 electric pipe threader which did not have a constant pressure control switch as required by the American National Standards Institute B208.1-1982, Section 4.4. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install a constant pressure foot control switch. Violation observed on or about 12/10/91
