Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Basement: Employees using a Rigid #400A pipe threader which was not provided with a constant pressure foot switch were exposed to the hazard of being caught in machine. Foot switch control is one of the feasible and accept able methods of abatement as required by the ANSI B 208.1-1982, Section 4.4 Violation observed on or about 2/14/90
