Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Warehouse: Employees were exposed to the hazard of being caught in the rigid 300 electric pipe threader, S/N 1206, due to the lack of a consistent pressure foot control switch as required by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI B208.1-1982 4.4.). One feasible and acceptable method of abatement is the installation of a constant pressure switch. Violation observed on or about 2/5/90
