Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of fire/explosion due to the lack of an aluminum dust collection system: a. Fiber Brush Deburring Department (Cell) - No aluminum dust collection system was provided where operations generate aluminum dust by deburring aluminum heat sinks using fiber brushes. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement to correct the hazard is to install an aluminum dust collection system in accordance with NFPA 65 - Standard for the Processing and Finishing of Aluminum.
