Jobsite; 5th Floor: Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of 1970:  The employer did not furnish employment and a
place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees
in that employees were exposed to being injured by inadequately
controlled
loads during the hoisting of aluminum studs.  The employee
could easily lose his balance and fall or be brushed as load swung into
the building:  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable
abatement
method to correct this hazard would be the enforcement of a work
rule requiring the use of tag lines during hoisting operations.

place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees
in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling while working
at the edge of the loading ramp.  The fall to the ground below was
in excess of 50 feet.  Among other methods one feasible and acceptable
abatement method is to require the use of safety belts and life lines.
