Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The

free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) Employees who perform computer data input are exposed to ergonomic
related injuries/illnesses while working in an environment causing
serious physical harm. The worksite is located at NAS Whiting Field,
Building 2992, Milton, Florida.
One feasible and acceptable abatemetn method, among others, to correct
this hazard is to provide computer furniture which is ergonomically
designed.
b) Employees who perform computer data input are exposed to ergonomic
related injuries/illnesses and were not trained in the work practices
and avoidance of ergonomic related injury/illness. The worksite is
located at NAS Whiting Field, Building 2992, Milton, Florida.
One feasible and acceptable abatement method is to establish a training/
work practice program which addresses posture, arm and leg positioning
and the selection of optimum viewing angles.
