Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) 4087 Hendricks Avenue; Employees were exposed to the serious hazard of working on the roof with a pitch of less than 4 in 12 and eaves 22' above ground level without being provided with a means of fall protection. Some feasible and acceptable abatement methods, among others, used by this industry are: 1) A catch platform installed below the work area. 2) Use of safety belts and lanyards. 3) Use of motion stopping safety system.
