Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to uncontrolled rotating parts striking employee or clothing caught by a Rigit 300 and not being able to shut-off machine instantaneously. No foot pedal provided: a) 1st floor 19 Jay Street, New York, N.Y. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other method, one feasible and accepted method to correct this hazard is to provide momentary contact device (switch foot pedal) as required in ANSI B205.11982 Section 4.4.
