employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall
hazard:
a)  Renaissance Masonry Restoration and Construction, 1100 Lincoln
Ave. Prospect Park, Pa. West Side - an employee was observed
utilizing a ladder to set up a ladder jack scaffold, for brick
pointing operations.  The height was approximately 13 feet above
floor level.  Employees was without the benefits of a safety belt
an lanyard or equivalent fall protection.  Observed 4/30/92
A FEASIBLE AND USEFUL MEANS OF ABATEMENT, AMONG OTHER METHODS,
WOULD BE FOR EMPLOYEES TO BE PROCTECTED BY SAFETY BELTS AND
LANYARD OR EQUIVALENT FALL PROTECTION.

by employees in all operations where there was exposure to hazardous con-
ditions:
