Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) LynMar Tool Company, Shop Area - Employees are exposed to the hazard of PVC pipes, used for the above ground transportation of compressed air, breaking and employees being struck by pipes or parts of shattered pipes. Among others one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to encase the PVC pipes in shatter resistant material as referenced in ANSI/ASME B31.8-1986.
