Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to live electrical parts. (a)F/T Unimak in the Engine room, two each four feet fluorescent lighting fixtures located less than 7' from the deck with the cover missing. (b)F/T Unimak in the Galley, a two prong receptacle located 6" from the sink that was not GFCI protected at the power panel or the receptacle. ABATEMENT NOTE: Instance a. and b. above was corrected at the time of the inspection by installing covers and GFCI at the receptacle, therefore, abatement certification and documentation are not required for these items.
