employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to live electrical parts:
a.)F/T Highland Light: In the Galley, a 120 V junction box was missing its
cover.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abating this
hazard would
be to install a cover, which was accomplished during the inspection and
observed by the
OSHA Compliance Officer.
b.)F/T Highland Light: In the Compressor Room, a 4-foot fluorescent
lighting fixture
located approximately 7 feet above the deck was missing a lamp.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abating this
hazard would
be to install a new lamp.
c.)F/T Highland Light: In the starboard Pump Room,  2-foot fluorescent
lighting fixture
located approximately 7.25 feet above the deck did not have covers.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abating this
hazard would
be to install covers.
NOTE: Highland Light Seafoods, LLC, was previously cited for violations of
this
Occupational Safety and Health Act requirement in OSHA inspection
#18166983, citation
1, item 1, issued on 12/20/99, with respect to a workplace located at
Dutch Harbor,
Alaska; and OSHA inspection #107106262, citation 1, item 1, issued on
09/08/97, with
respect to a workplace located at Naknek, Alaska.
Abatement Note: Instance a. above was corrected at the time of the
inspection by
installing a cover, therefore, abatement certification and documentation
are
not required
for this item.  For instances b. and c., in addition to submitting the
enclosed Abatement
Certification form to OSHA, abatement documentation in the form of
photographic
evidence must be provided.  Failure to provide such documentation may
result in
additional citations and penalties.
