Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The

employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) The hazard of a collapsing roof truss system which employees were
exposed to had been erected over the north breezeway of building 10,
on or about 11/28/88. Roof trusses were not adequately braced to
prevent the collapse of the trusses. (One truss was observed to have
collapsed and two were shaking.)
One feasible and acceptable method of abatement, among others would be
installation of the trusses in accordance with the recommendations of
BWT-76, "Bracing Wood Trusses", prepared by the Truss Plat Institute.
