Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) On or about January 29, 1986 employees were exposed to falling parts
of a Jagenberg flying splice machine during the installation of the
machine in the finishing building.
Feasible and useful methods of correcting this hazard include, but are
not limited to:
1) Assess the machine to be installed and established written procedures
that would outline the steps to be taken during the installation.
2) Review the procedures with employees so that details of the procedure
are clearly explained.
3) Periodic checks by surpervisory personnel to insure that the
procedures established are being followed.
