Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) On or about October 10, 1985, employees were exposed to hazard of
being struck by falling trusses and crushing injuries at building
no. 13, west, Gleneagle Development located at or about 7563
Glendoren Lane, Delray Beach, Florida 33336.  On October 10, 1985,
trusses were overburdened when plywood sheeting was loaded on top
chords.  Bracing through chords, lateral and cross bracing, was not
provided.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to
correct this hazard would be:
1) Ensure that bundles of sheeting are broken down and/or placed on
adequate load bearing members.
2) Ensure that lateral and cross bracing are carried out according to
procedures as the job progresses.
3) Ensure the TPI 76 Commentary and Recommendations for truss erection
is in possession of site foreman.
