Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a).Worksite-8321 Roan Ridge Rd. Kansas City, MO-Employee working outside the perimeter of the guardrails of the scissor lift, standing on the midrail, approximately 20-25' above the ground without any fall protection provided to the employee. While the ultimate responsibility for correcting the hazard rests with the employer, given his superior knowledge of the worksite, one form of fall protection would be the practice of anchoring the employees to the structure with a full-body harness and a lanyard in case of fall or collapse of the lift.pse
