Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Sherman Williams Paint Co., Newark, N.J., building # 24 Employee was in the process of connecting cantilevered steel beams onto structural steel framing that was not braced upon erection. One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is the use of cable support guys to prevent resistance from horizontal forces, as required by American National Standard Institute A10.13-1972. Violation occurred on or about 11/4/96d
