(a) Bag Dept.:  On or about 8/27/97, an employee was performing
maintenance on a bag
machine while standing on a hydraulic pump lift truck which is designed to
be used for lifting
material and not personnel.  Among other methods, one feasible and
acceptable abatement
method to correct this hazard is to provide approved work platforms for
employees to stand on,
such as stairs or step ladders, when needed.
