recognized hazards

benefit of wearing a
body belt with lanyard attached to the boom or basket:
a)Sears Building, east side -  Employee was observed working
from a SKYLIFT A&B 60 aerial lift raised approximately 20
feet in the air without use of a body belt or lanyard.  On or
about 07/10/98.
Abatement Notes:
Among other methods,one feasible method to reduce the hazard is to:
1.       Follow ANSI/SIA A92.5-1992-Boom Supported Elevating Work
Platforms,section
8.8 states:" Ensure all personnel in the platform are wearing fall
protection devices and other
safety gear as required at all times"and
2.       Train the employees in the proper procedures while operating
aerial lifts, such as, but
not limited to, the wearing of a safety belt with lanyard.
