Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees
in that employees
were exposed to:

proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the warehouse area - An employee was working on the process of dispatch
some
iron parts which are used to adorn grates, over a wood pallet which at the
same time
was supported by the forks of a forklift Yale model no. GLC030CDNU AE-083
type
LP, serial number N-472800, maximun capacity of 2,700-3,000 and weight of
6,262
pounds at 11'2" high above the floor without have standard guardrails,
safety belts or
another fall protection system.
Employee was exposed to falling hazards.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is, provide to the use of employees portable mobile stairway with
guardrails
and handrails to protect them from falling hazards.
En el area del almacen - Un empleado estuvo trabajando en el proceso de
despachar
varias piezas de hierro, las cuales son utilizadas para adornos de rejas,
sobre una
paleta de madera la cual a su vez era sostenida por los tenedores de un
montacargas
Yale modelo no. GLC030CDNU AE-083 tipo LP, numero de serie N-472800,
capacidad maxima de 2,700-3,000 y peso de 6,262 libras, a 11'2" de altura
sobre el
piso sin tener barandas estandares, cinturon de seguridad o cualquier
sistema
de
detencion contra caidas.
Empleado expuesto a riesgos de caidas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo de correccion factible y aceptable para
corregir este
riesgo, es proveer para el uso de los empleados escaleras movibles
portatiles con
barandas y pasamanos para protegerlos de riesgos de caidas.
