Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the elevator area,on the first floor,the employees charged boxes of
materials. The
shaft of the elevator GEM City did not had protection barrier to avoid
that the employees
enter when the elevator was operated from the second floor.
Hazard: Strokes with the elevator platform.
Among other methods,one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is:
a) to place guarding to impede the passing to that area.
b) to place signs to prohibit the passing to that area.
En el area del ascensor,en el primer piso,empleados cargaban cajas de
materiales. La
fosa del ascensor GEM City no tenia barrera de proteccion para evitar que
los empleados
entraran cuando el ascensor era operado desde el segundo piso.
Riesgo: Golpes con la plataforma del ascensor.
Entre otros metodos,un metodo posible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es:
a) colocar resguardo para impedir el paso a esa area.
b) colocar rotulos que prohiban el paso a esa area.
