Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about October 14th, three employees were exposed to the hazard of the metal plate connected wood trusses collapsing when three load of plywood were set on top. Employees had installed the metal plate connected wood trusses and the trusses were not braced according to the manufactures recommendations. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO BRACE THE METAL PLATE CONNECTED WOOD TRUSSES FOLLOWING HIB-91 SUMMARY SHEET, COMMENTARY and RECOMMENDATIONS for HANDLING, INSTALLING & BRACING METAL PLATE CONNECTED WOOD TRUSSES.
