Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being caught by the closing dies of the molding machines numbers 12 and 16: In the injection molding machine area employee(s) were exposed the hazard of being caught in the molding machines when the employees reached inside the machines to remove parts from the machines. The machines had malfunctioning safety devices. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard would be to: (1). Follow the manufacturers' requirement to make sure that the safety devices on the molding machines are functioning properly, at least daily.
