North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational
Safety and Health Act of North Carolina:  The employer did not
furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a
place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees were exposed to:
a)being struck by falling objects. The building support
structure had deteriorated from exposure to fumes used in
galvanizing shed.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement
method to correct this hazard is to have an engineering
appraisal of the structure.
