Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)East side; SkyTrac rough terrain lift was used to move workers up and down from the 22' roof with the workers (3) standing on a pallet on the forks and hanging on to the backstop. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard are: 1.Use the interior roof access hatch with an acceptable ladder. 2.Use a manufacturer's approved work platform/basket that has guardrails, appropriate size, allows personnel to be secured or tied off, and is secured to the rough terrain lift. See AMSE B56.6-1992. 3.Use a secured extension ladder from the exterior.
