Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to serious burns from flammable liquid (gasoline) fire:
a)Service Area - An employee was not formally trained in and did not use
the correct tools and procedures to remove an automotive gasoline tank.
As a result, the employee was burned when gasoline spurted from a
pressurized fuel line and made contact with an ignition source.
One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the
procedures listed in
the "Dealer Service Instructions, Safety Recall #755 - Fuel Tank Sending
Unit".
