General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of the cover blowing off a pressurized autoclave tank due to the inability of the operators to read the air pressure gauges of the autoclaves. Mold Dept.: The air pressure gauges of two autoclaves were not readable due to the dirty glass in front of the needle. One abatement recommendation is to replace the gauges. A second abatement recommendation is to inspect the autoclave air pressure gauges regularly. A third recommendation is to train new operators to read the gauges. "ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM".
