Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to acidic drips from an exhaust duct over an aisle. Anodizing Dept.: Acidic drips fall onto the floor of an aisle from the exhaust duct for the bright dip tank. A method of abatement is to block the aisle and post signs to prohibit employees from walking or driving through the aisle. A second method of abatement is to replace the exhaust duct.
