Section 88.4 - Code of Iowa (1999) 88.4: The employer did not furnish to each of the employer's employees employment, and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death, or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to burn injuries: (a)In the Chemical Department - Several months ago steam piping for the digestors had been replaced. The steam operated at approximately 470 degress F. The steam piping was located next to the walkway and had not been insulated. This condition presented an unacceptable burn injury hazard for employees. An acceptable method to correct this deficiency is to properly insulate this steam piping up to a height of at least 7 feet above the working surface. This deficiency was noted on or about 3-10-99.cy
