Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive serious injuries due to burns when employees are in contact with hot parts ( 107 - 150 F ) in metal tubes ( 6 inches ) at 1 - 4`7" in the Rendering area in ccoker # 7, while they stands or pass over here to do their job. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct thid hazard is to insulate the hot parts. a. Recibir lesiones serias debido a quemaduras cuando los empleados entren en contacto con partes calientes ( tubos de metal de 6 " ) a una temperatura entre 107 - 150 F y a una altura desde 1'- 4'7" en el area de Procesadora de Remanente en el "cooker" # 7, mientras estos se paran o pasan por dicha area a hacer su trabajo. Entre otros metodos correctivos, uno seguro y aceptable para corregir dicho riesgo es aislar las partes calientes.
